Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Allen County legislators are encouraging students aged 13 to 18 to apply.

State Representative Martin Carbaugh, representing Fort Wayne, stated that participating students will assist lawmakers and staff, tour the Indiana Statehouse, and listen to legislative sessions. "Students participating in the page program have a front row seat to the lawmaking process," said Carbaugh. "It's a fantastic way to inspire the next generation of Hoosier leaders to get involved."

The program's application can be accessed on IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where available dates during the session are listed. The legislative session began on January 8 and will conclude by April 29.

State Representative Dave Heine expressed enthusiasm about meeting students from House District 85, saying, "The page program gives students the opportunity to explore the Statehouse and witness the legislature in action."

Similarly, State Representative Chris Judy noted that he enjoys connecting with local students annually through this initiative. "Every year, I enjoy connecting with students from our local communities and showing them how the legislative process works," he remarked. "This program provides an excellent opportunity for Hoosier youth to engage in civic activities and interact directly with state lawmakers."

State Representative Bob Morris mentioned that interested students could participate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the session and receive an excused absence from school. Large groups may attend on Wednesdays by contacting the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov. Morris added, "It's always exciting to welcome young minds who are interested in learning more about their state government."

Students need to arrange their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis.
