State Representative Jim Pressel has been honored with Indiana's highest award, the Sagamore of the Wabash. Governor Eric Holcomb presented the award to Pressel on January 9, 2025, at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

Pressel, a Republican from Rolling Prairie, has served as chair of the House Roads and Transportation Committee since 2020. His work focuses on legislation aimed at improving road safety, reliability, and funding in Indiana.

The Sagamore of the Wabash award was established in the 1940s by former Governor Ralph Gates. It is considered the most prestigious honor that can be awarded by the governor to individuals who have made significant contributions to the state.
