State Rep. Cory Criswell, a Republican from Middletown, has been appointed to the House Ways and Means Committee. This new role means he will no longer be part of the House Environmental Affairs Committee but will continue his work with the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and the House Public Policy Committee. The announcement was made by House Speaker Todd Huston on January 8, marking the start of the legislative session.

Criswell emphasized the significance of his new position, stating that "the House Ways and Means Committee holds a pivotal role in shaping the state’s budget." He added that "there is no better place for me to truly understand where all of the state’s revenues are distributed," expressing eagerness to help create a responsible budget that serves Indiana's taxpayers while supporting essential infrastructure and services.

In addition to his committee assignments, Criswell retains his leadership position within the House Republican Caucus as an Assistant Majority Whip.
