Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. This announcement comes from State Representatives Stephen Bartels and Chris May.

Bartels highlighted that Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 are invited to spend a day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse, and observing the legislative session. "It's always exciting to welcome students into the Statehouse," Bartels stated. "They can learn more about the inner workings of government and see how our laws are made."

The application process is available online at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where prospective participants can also view available days during the ongoing legislative session. The session began on January 8 and will conclude by April 29.

May emphasized the value of pages to lawmakers and staff during sessions, noting that they gain firsthand experience in witnessing legislative debates. "Pages are a great help to lawmakers and staff during session," May said. "They get a front-row seat to seeing legislation debated, which is an excellent way to foster an interest in civic engagement."

Interested students can participate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the legislative period. They will receive an excused absence from school for their participation. Larger groups have designated participation days on Wednesdays only. For group scheduling, contact information includes reaching out to the page program director at 317-232-9410 or via email at pageprogram@iga.in.gov.

Participants must arrange their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis' Statehouse.

State Rep. Stephen Bartels represents House District 74, encompassing all of Crawford, Perry, Spencer counties, as well as parts of Dubois and Orange counties.
