Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Madison County legislators have announced that Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 are invited to participate in this educational opportunity.
State Representative Lori Goss-Reaves (R-Marion) stated, "For students curious about how things work at the Statehouse, this program offers a way for them to learn and explore their interests." She expressed her enthusiasm for meeting young participants who engage in this experience.
State Representative Chris Jeter (R-Fishers) emphasized the importance of early exposure to government processes, saying, "Learning about Indiana's government early on can leave a huge impact, especially when students have a front row seat to the lawmaking process."
According to State Representative Kyle Pierce (R-Anderson), applications are available online at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram. The legislative session runs from January 8 through April 29. Pierce remarked, "This program allows students to go beyond the classroom and witness how our state government works."
Students interested in participating will be able to page on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Large groups may schedule participation on Wednesdays by contacting the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov. An excused absence from school will be granted for participants.
State Representative Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown) noted that students gain valuable insights into governmental operations through this program: "Students leave the page program with a better understanding of how the government serves them and their families."
As a newcomer to the legislature, State Representative Ethan Lawson (R-Greenfield) shared his eagerness for student involvement: "This program allows young Hoosiers to see state government in action and learn more about how decisions are made that shape our communities."
Participants must arrange their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis.
