State Representative Alaina Shonkwiler, alongside several other state legislators, presented a proclamation to honor Indiana law enforcement officials on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The event took place on January 9, 2025, in the House Chamber at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

The proclamation was a collaborative effort with participation from State Representatives Mark Genda, Craig Haggard, Jennifer Meltzer, and Victoria Garcia Wilburn. Additionally, State Senators Brian Buchanan and Brett Clark were present for the occasion.

"National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was established in 2015 to express gratitude for the sacrifice, service and selflessness exemplified by law enforcement officers across the country," noted the statement accompanying the proclamation.

This annual day of recognition aims to highlight and appreciate the efforts of law enforcement personnel nationwide. The event underscores a collective acknowledgment of their dedication and commitment to public safety.
