Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program for the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, as announced by Elkhart County lawmakers. The program invites Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 to participate.

State Representative David Abbott from Rome City highlighted the unique opportunity for students to engage with lawmakers and gain firsthand experience of the state legislature. "The House Page Program is a unique experience that young Hoosiers should not pass up," Abbott stated.

Applications and available dates can be accessed on IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram. The legislative session begins on January 8 and concludes by April 29.

State Representative Joanna King from Middlebury encouraged students from her district to apply soon due to limited availability. "I hope to see students from my district serve as pages during the upcoming session," King said.

State Representative Doug Miller of Elkhart noted that interested students could page on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with large groups accommodated on Wednesdays. He added that participants would receive an excused absence from school. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.

Miller emphasized the benefits for those interested in government or civic engagement: "Students who have a strong interest in state government, Indiana history or a future in civic engagement should consider the page program."

State Representative Tim Wesco from Osceola also urged students not to delay their application: "Being a page is such a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about state government and see what happens at the Statehouse for a day."

Participants are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis.
