Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program for the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, as announced by St. Joseph County legislators.

State Representative Dale DeVon (R-Granger) has invited Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 to participate in this program. Participants will assist lawmakers and staff, tour the Indiana Statehouse, and observe legislative sessions. "The page program is a great learning experience, and students should not miss out on the opportunity," said DeVon. He emphasized that it is an excellent chance for civically engaged future leaders from the community.

Interested students can apply at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where they can also find available dates during the legislative session running from January 8 to April 29, 2025.

State Representative Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty) highlighted that serving as a page provides insight into state government operations. "Serving as a page for a day gets you a closer look at how our state government operates," he stated.

State Representative Tim Wesco (R-Osceola) mentioned that pages could serve on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the session with an excused absence from school. Larger groups may attend on Wednesdays only by contacting the page program director at 317-232-9410 or via email at pageprogram@iga.in.gov. "Being a page is such a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about state government and see what happens at the Statehouse for a day," Wesco noted.

Students must arrange their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis.
