With the 2025 legislative session on the horizon, lawmakers from Johnson County are urging residents to participate in online surveys to provide feedback on key issues. Residents can access these surveys by visiting their state representative's webpage and selecting the "Take My Survey" option.

The representatives participating include State Rep. Michelle Davis (R-Whiteland) for House District 58, State Rep. Robb Greene (R-Shelbyville) for House District 47, State Rep. Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville) for House District 57, and State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) for House District 60.

Davis expressed the importance of these surveys by stating, "These surveys allow me to connect with my district and understand their priorities." She encourages constituents to take a moment to share their thoughts.

Greene emphasized the significance of open dialogue: "Open dialogue is key to keeping the government by the people, for the people." He invites Hoosiers to participate in order to directly convey pressing topics that he can address at the Statehouse.

Residents must be district members and submit their responses by December 31. To verify their district, constituents can visit the Indiana General Assembly's website and use the "Find Your Legislator" feature. Additionally, some may have received survey mailers from their state representative.

Haggard highlighted that hearing from constituents ensures effective advocacy: "This survey is an important tool for fostering dialogue between lawmakers and the people we represent."

The upcoming legislative session starts on January 8 and concludes by April 29. Information about proposed legislation and livestreams of proceedings will be available at iga.in.gov.

Mayfield noted her commitment to receiving input: "Receiving input from Hoosiers is an integral part of my job as a state representative." She looks forward to understanding what matters most to her constituents before sessions begin.
