State Representatives David Abbott and Craig Snow have been appointed to serve on key committees in the Indiana House of Representatives. The appointments are made biennially by the Indiana House Speaker following the November election and last for the duration of a member's two-year term.

Representative Abbott, from Rome City, has been named vice chair of the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee. He will also be part of the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee. "Government operations should prioritize serving the public and promoting transparency," Abbott stated. "As vice chair, I will continue working to eliminate regulatory obstacles and advocate for Hoosiers."

Representative Snow, from Warsaw, takes on the role of vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee while also serving on the House Insurance Committee. Snow emphasized the importance of committee work in reviewing bills, hearing public testimony, and considering amendments. "As the new vice chair of the Ways and Means Committee, we must be sensible about how we allocate the state's money," he remarked. "I will use my previous experience as a member of the committee to review upcoming legislation and work to improve the lives of Hoosiers."

The first day of Indiana's 2025 legislative session is set for January 8 at 1:30 p.m. Residents can visit iga.in.gov for information on legislation, calendars, and access to live streams of committee meetings and sessions.

Abbott represents House District 18 which includes parts of Elkhart, Kosciusko, Noble, and Whitley counties.
