U.S. Senator Todd Young has joined a bipartisan effort to investigate the federal funding allocated to abortion providers over the past three years. The inquiry, directed at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), seeks to examine the financial support given to organizations such as the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

The letter, which was signed by 112 members of Congress, aims to provide updated information on federal funding for various health centers and abortion providers from fiscal years 2022 to 2024. The signatories express gratitude for previous reports by the GAO and request a similar analysis for the specified period.

In their communication, they emphasize the importance of oversight in public fund allocation, noting that understanding how taxpayer money is spent is vital for both policymakers and the general public. They hope this report will offer greater transparency and assist Congress in making informed decisions regarding future funding levels.

The letter outlines specific organizations for review, including Federally Qualified Health Centers, Planned Parenthood affiliates, International Planned Parenthood Federation affiliates, MSI Reproductive Choices (formerly Marie Stopes International), and other domestic abortion providers.

The members of Congress have requested that the GAO complete this report promptly and provide an estimated timeline for its completion.
