The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) announced that this opportunity is available for the upcoming 2025 legislative session.
The internship is a full-time position during the spring semester, running Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session will begin in January and end in April. Interns will receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.
"House interns are able to work with lawmakers and staff to build on their skills and apply them in a professional setting," said Jordan. "I encourage all eligible students from my district to apply, so they don't miss out on this rewarding experience."
Jordan highlighted that college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors are encouraged to apply by visiting indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline.
The internship program provides additional benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also compete for a $3,000 scholarship applicable toward undergraduate or graduate expenses.
Students have opportunities to work in various departments relevant to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications can be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
