The deadline for applications to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with submissions due by October 31. State Representatives Cindy Ledbetter and Tim O'Brien have emphasized the importance of this opportunity for students seeking practical experience during the 2025 legislative session.

Ledbetter highlighted that the internship runs full-time from Monday to Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, starting in January and concluding in April. Interns receive a biweekly stipend of $900 and may earn academic credit through their respective colleges or universities. "This internship is a great opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in the real world," Ledbetter stated. She noted that it could benefit those pursuing careers in politics or looking for professional workplace experience.

O'Brien encouraged college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all majors to apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline. "No matter your college major, interning at the Statehouse can provide valuable experience and expand your network," O'Brien said.

The program offers additional benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also compete for a $3,000 scholarship applicable toward undergraduate or graduate expenses. The internships cover various departments including legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications are available online and must be submitted by October 31.
