The deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship for the 2025 legislative session is approaching, as announced by State Representatives Jim Pressel and Jake Teshka. Interested candidates have until October 31 to submit their applications.

According to Rep. Pressel, the full-time internship will take place during the spring semester from Monday to Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The legislative session runs from January through April. Interns will receive $900 biweekly and may earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

"With opportunities in a variety of departments, there is something for all students and recent graduates," Pressel stated. "To be competitive in today's job market, having a strong internship experience can set you apart from your peers, and that's exactly what this internship can help you do."

Rep. Teshka encouraged college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors to apply by visiting indianahouserepublicans.com/internship before the deadline.

"As a former intern, I was able to see and experience how the legislative process works, which was incredibly rewarding," Teshka said. "Interns will walk away with a new perspective on state government and see how laws affect Hoosiers."

The program includes benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and eligibility for a $3,000 scholarship for educational expenses.

Opportunities are available in various departments related to interns' fields of study including legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications must be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship by October 31.
