The deadline for applying to the Indiana House Republican internship program is approaching, with applications due by October 31. State Representative Lindsay Patterson of Brookville has highlighted this opportunity for students and recent graduates interested in gaining experience in government and public policy.

The internship is a full-time position during the spring semester at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. It runs from January to April, coinciding with the legislative session. Interns will receive $900 biweekly and may also earn academic credit through their educational institutions.

“If you are interested in learning more about our government and how public policy decisions in Indiana are made, an internship at the Statehouse is a great place to start,” Patterson stated. “Interns make connections, grow their resume and build confidence throughout this experience. I highly encourage anyone interested to apply before the October 31st deadline.”

Patterson encourages college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates from all majors to apply online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship by the deadline.

The internship offers additional benefits such as free parking, career development assistance, and access to an Indiana government class. Interns can also compete for a $3,000 scholarship applicable toward further education expenses.

Participants will have opportunities to work in departments aligned with their academic focus areas, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications must be submitted online by October 31.
