Applications for 2025 Statehouse internships with Indiana House Republicans are now open, according to State Representatives Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper).
Bartels stated that the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.
"Students can apply for a Statehouse internship and earn valuable real-world experience," Bartels said. "An opportunity like this is a vital addition to a resume and often kickstarts an individual's professional career."
Lindauer mentioned that internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns receive free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"All of our interns' contributions are really invaluable during legislative sessions," Lindauer said. "This program's benefits are many, including developing job skills and networking with state leaders."
Internships provide opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications. Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
