State Rep. Cindy Ledbetter (R-Newburgh) is urging residents of Warrick County to report tornado damage from the July 30 event by contacting Indiana 211.

To facilitate a comprehensive damage assessment, residents can call 866-211-9966 or visit in211.communityos.org and click on the "Damage Reporting" tab. This information will help the Indiana Department of Homeland Security estimate damages and plan subsequent recovery actions, including repairs and cleanup.

"The tornado that struck Warrick County on Tuesday left many residents with damaged homes and no power or internet," Ledbetter said. "I encourage any affected residents to report damage to Indiana 211 so that we can recover from the extensive damage to homes, businesses, and our infrastructure."

Residents whose homes were damaged can stay at a shelter set up by the American Red Cross of Indiana at Castle High School in Newburgh.

Wood and vegetation debris should be placed within 10 feet of the roadway for pick-up by the Warrick County Highway Department. Trash, building, or construction materials will not be picked up at this time.

Agricultural damage should be reported to Purdue Extension at 812-897-6100.
