State Reps. Lorissa Sweet (R-Wabash) and Craig Snow (R-Warsaw) have been appointed to serve on interim study committees that will convene throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and develop potential solutions.

The legislators will hear testimony from the public, experts, and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the budget session in January. Sweet will be a member of the Interim Study Committee on Government.

"Interim study committees are a great time for lawmakers to take a deeper dive into various issues and consider solutions that can improve the lives of our constituents," Sweet said. "For this committee, we'll look for ways to improve and streamline state government operations and to ensure taxpayer dollars are being used wisely."

Snow will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy.

"Year after year, our state continues to maintain a balanced budget, strong reserves, and a solid credit rating," Snow said. "With the budget being the focus of the next legislative session, we'll review the state's fiscal health, and tax incentive and workforce programs."
