U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, lauded the Senate's approval of the bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024.
The legislation, which was endorsed by the Senate with an 88-4 vote on Thursday, renews the FAA's authorization for another five years. The bill incorporates several provisions aimed at enhancing aviation safety and oversight within the FAA, addressing air traffic controller shortages, mandating airlines to seat families together, and promoting the upcoming generation of aviation technology innovations.
“This bill contains many provisions important to the Hoosier aviation industry and the flying public. I am pleased that it passed the Senate in a strong bipartisan vote and urge the House to pass this critical bill,” said Senator Young. The legislator also noted that a number of his amendments and priorities were included in the bill.
