Canned Food Drive & Activities: Nov. 14-16

It’s that time of year again for our annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive! People are counting on us!Our school goal is 12, 000 cans!

Who are we helping?

St. Vincent de Paul, St. Augustine’s Home, Officer David S. Moore Pantry, International Gateway Pantry, and Catholic Charities Crisis Office.

When & where can I bring my cans?

Drop them off in the main gym BEFORE SCHOOL from Mon., Nov. 14 through Wed., Nov. 16, 2022, before school. (Look at items to bring at the bottom of this page).

Dodgeball Game on Nov. 15, other fun incentives!

The BCHS Student Council has organized these incentives — bring more cans AND have fun!

Class Competition: The class that collects the most cans will be awarded out of uniform days for the week of Thanksgiving (November 21 & 22)!!

Dodgeball Game for Cans on November 15

  • The tournament will be held on Tues., Nov. 15, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Gym!
  • Students that bring in 15 cans Monday or Tuesday are eligible to register when they turn in their cans – MUST BRING IN CANS BY TUESDAY!
  • Teams will be broken up by grade level. Interest will determine the format of event.
  • Prize: The winning team will be awarded a “Faculty & Staff Can Bonus,” meaning all canned food items donated by faculty and staff members will be added to their class can total!!
  • The event is open to parents & spectators! Admission to the event is a 2 can donation!!
School-wide Goal Incentive – TBA on Monday!!

Parents & Sports Fans: Special Drive at the Nov. 12 Girls Basketball Game!

Bring 5 cans to the Nov. 12, 2022 Girls Basketball home game vs. Gibson Southern and gain free admission to the game! The JV game begins at 3:00, followed by the varsity at 4:30 p.m.

What goods are needed?

  • Dry goods and canned goods
  • Canned fruit, vegetables or soups, pork and beans
  • Canned spaghettios/Chef Boyardee-type items
  • Rice and dried beans
  • Pasta, spaghetti
  • Any kind of boxed dinners
  • Cereal
  • Saltine crackers
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Paper towels and Kleenex
