U.S. Senator Todd Young, representing Indiana, has collaborated with Senate colleagues to introduce a resolution recognizing the 39th anniversary of C-SPAN 2’s inaugural Senate broadcast on June 2, 1986. This resolution also encourages television providers, including streaming services, to offer access to the network.
“C-SPAN 2 has connected Americans with their government for nearly 40 years. I’m proud to support this resolution to recognize the anniversary and call for more Americans to have access to this vital window into the Senate,” stated Senator Young.
For almost four decades, C-SPAN 2 has functioned as a direct link between the public and the U.S. Senate, providing an uninterrupted view of lawmakers working on behalf of their constituents. Unlike many networks, C-SPAN does not receive taxpayer funding; instead, it is supported by cable and satellite television operators in the United States as a public service.
