The Fink Farm in Warren County has been recognized with a Hoosier Homestead Centennial Award for operating continuously since 1893. The award was announced by State Representative Matt Commons and State Senator Spencer Deery.
“Hoosier farmers are the backbone of our agricultural industry,” said Commons. “It is an honor to recognize the hard work and dedication of these family farms.”
The Hoosier Homestead awards program honors Indiana farms that have remained in the same family for at least 100, 150, or 200 years. Awards are given as centennial, sesquicentennial, or bicentennial distinctions.
“These family farms are a bridge that connects our modern era to Indiana’s history and agricultural heritage,” Deery said. “All Hoosiers should feel a sense of pride that for centuries, we have been a place where the agricultural spirit has thrived and that that culture continues today. Families like these make me so grateful to live in America’s heartland.”
The Fink Farm was among 95 recipients honored during a recent ceremony at the Indiana State Fair. Since its creation in 1976, more than 6,000 Indiana farms have received recognition through this program for their contributions to the state’s economy and culture.
Ceremonies for the Hoosier Homestead awards take place each spring and summer. Information about nominations for future ceremonies can be found on the Indiana Department of Agriculture website (https://www.in.gov/isda/programs-and-initiatives/hoosier-homestead-program/), with applications for March 2026 due by November 1.

State Rep. Matt Commons represents House District 13, which includes all of Benton and Warren counties as well as parts of Fountain, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Tippecanoe, and White counties.
