Morten Andersen, born 19 August 1960, later lived in Indianapolis

Morten Andersen, born August 19, 1960, in Denmark, is a former NFL kicker whose career spanned 25 seasons. He played for the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons, setting records for most games played (382) and ranking second in field goals (565). Andersen first kicked a football as an exchange student at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. His performance earned him a scholarship to Michigan State University, launching his path to the NFL. He later became the Saints’ all-time leading scorer and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Andersen earned six Pro Bowl selections and built a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent kickers. He retired in 2008 after scoring 2,544 points. His connection to Indianapolis marked the beginning of a historic football career. In 2020, he launched a football podcast, continuing his involvement in the sport.
