Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) has launched an initiative to highlight the diverse journeys of its alumni. One featured alumni, Isaac Adams, a 2009 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, shared his experiences and career journey, which started in the state's largest school district.

After high school, Adams attended Butler University's College of Education and pursued a career in teaching. He began teaching freshman physics at Herron High School and later moved to Pike High School to teach Project Lead the Way Engineering courses. After three years, he returned to Arsenal Technical High School, invited by his former physics teacher, Dr. Mark Blachly.

Isaac Adams has been recognized for his contributions to education. He was named the 2021 Arsenal Tech Teacher of the Year and received the WISH-TV Golden Apple in 2022. The Arsenal Tech Alumni Association awarded him the Karl J. Stipher Award in 2023, and he was recognized as the VEX Mentor of the Year for Indiana in 2024. He has also been an Honored Educator for nearly ten students.

During his time at IPS, Adams faced challenges but found support and inspiration from teachers such as Dr. Mark Blachly and Cindy Hartshorn. He discovered his love for physics and music, which influenced his decision to pursue education and remain connected to the IPS community.

Adams has made significant contributions to student development through various initiatives, including coaching the Titan Robotics teams. He has seen growth in the program, expanding from a few students to having a team qualify for the state championship.

Isaac Adams continues to impact students as the Engineering and Robotics teacher at Arsenal Technical High School. He encourages current students to engage in extracurricular activities, as they can have a transformative effect on their lives.
