The United States Senate has approved a resolution to designate May 12-17, 2025, as National Police Week. This initiative was introduced by U.S. Senators Todd Young from Indiana and Chuck Grassley from Iowa, along with support from 79 other Senate colleagues.

Senator Young commented on the resolution’s significance: “Law enforcement officers in Indiana and across the country step up every day to protect and serve our communities. We are grateful for their dedicated service and the sacrifices they make on our behalf.”

For over sixty years, Congress has annually passed a resolution honoring law enforcement officers. National Police Week is an occasion for Americans to recognize the service and sacrifice of these courageous individuals and their families, with special remembrance for those who have fallen in the line of duty.
