Congressman Jefferson Shreve has announced that $11.7 million in federal funding will be directed to eight infrastructure and public safety projects throughout Indiana’s Sixth District. The funds, which were signed into law following advocacy efforts shaped by input from local leaders and residents, will address improvements to roads, bridges, public safety measures, and water systems.
This marks Rep. Shreve’s first year in Congress, during which he secured the second-largest amount of project funding among Indiana House members.
The funded projects include $1.6 million for reconstructing County Road 144 in Bargersville; $2 million for traffic upgrades at the Mt. Comfort Road rail crossing in McCordsville; $1.25 million each for a new water treatment plant in Dublin and for connecting Glenwood to Connersville’s water system; $1.3 million for rebuilding the Dunlapsville Road bridge near Liberty; $1.8 million toward reconstruction of the 21st Century Bridge in Richmond; and $2.5 million allocated to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for hostile vehicle mitigation barriers and a mobile incident command vehicle.
Congressman Shreve stated, “From day one, I’ve listened to Hoosiers about what their communities need. Roads and bridges that are overdue for repair. Safer neighborhoods. Reliable access to clean water. These are not partisan issues. They’re basics. I’m glad to deliver federal resources that strengthen infrastructure, support growth, and improve quality of life across Indiana’s Sixth District.”
According to Rep. Shreve’s office, these projects align with priorities identified by local communities and aim to enhance safety, competitiveness, and overall quality of life within the district.
