Casen Lake, a Logansport native and junior at Ball State University, is gaining experience as an intern with State Representative Ethan Manning and members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2026 legislative session, according to a March 13 announcement.
The internship provides college students like Lake with opportunities to learn about state government and develop professional skills. As a policy intern, Lake conducts research, prepares committee reports, and assists staff and lawmakers with legislative and fiscal inquiries.
Lake said, “I really enjoy the day-to-day experience of the work I get to do, and the learning that comes with it. I also enjoy getting to work with all the staff and representatives and the opportunity to make professional connections.”
Manning praised Lake’s contributions this session. “Casen has been a tremendous asset to our team this session,” Manning said. “His research skills and attention to detail have helped support thoughtful policy discussions on key issues.”
