On April 30, Shreve announced the relocation of a major federal program to Marion County. He wrote: “Big news for central Indiana. Bringing these jobs to Marion County strengthens our local economy and puts a major national program in capable Hoosier hands. It will also save taxpayers—Indianapolis costs less than Washington. Looking forward to welcoming @USDA SNAP operations” (April 30, 2026). The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is one of the nation’s largest anti-hunger initiatives.
The following day, Shreve reported on a meeting with the Indiana Rural Broadband Association about expanding internet access in rural areas. He stated: “Good discussion with our Indiana Rural Broadband Association. Reliable broadband is core infrastructure. It matters for education, healthcare and economic development across rural Indiana. We need practical steps that help accelerate deployment and expand access in communities” (May 1, 2026). Expanding broadband has been identified as essential for bridging digital divides affecting education and healthcare outcomes.
On May 2, Shreve shared his attendance at an event honoring law enforcement officers who died in service: “The Indy Star covered Friday’s 50th annual service to honor the central Indiana police officers who have given their lives to protect us at home. I was there to represent my 780,000 constituents in paying sober tribute to those men and women for their sacrifice, including most” (May 2, 2026). Memorial services such as this are held annually nationwide during National Police Week to recognize fallen officers’ contributions.
