On May 17, Shreve marked Police Week by meeting with local officers. He wrote: “During Police Week, I met with the Beech Grove officers who were on shift with Officer Brian Elliott the night he gave his life in the line of duty. Talking with them was a reminder of the weight every officer carries — and of the brotherhood that endures long after a shift” (May 17, 2026).
Later that day, Shreve attended a significant military event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He stated: “Today was the 45th Joint Enlistment Ceremony at @IMS. I was honored to welcome 250 young men and women into our Armed Forces alongside our @innationalguard. There’s no better backdrop to recognize those choosing to serve our country than the Speedway. Congratulations to every” (May 17, 2026).
On May 18, Shreve shared details from another visit at the same venue: “Met with the @IU_Health LifeLine crew at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway yesterday.
