Congressman Jefferson Shreve, who represents Indiana’s 6th congressional district, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account regarding events and meetings in his community.

On July 31, 2025, Shreve addressed a recent aviation accident in Greenwood. He stated, “An aviation tragedy that hit close to home…The Greenwood community is deeply saddened by yesterday’s plane crash. Our prayers are with the family of the pilot who lost her life. And yet we’re grateful that more lives weren’t lost on the ground near this busy intersection.”

The following day, August 1, 2025, Shreve highlighted his engagement with local law enforcement in Wayne County. He wrote, “Wayne County Sheriff Randy Retter and his team brought me current on their public safety work. They run a tight ship, and a model county jail! https://t.co/k5QtBNkveu”

Later that same day, Shreve reported on a meeting with agricultural leaders from Indiana’s 6th district: “Lunch, listening and learning today from #CD6 ag leaders. It was good sharing the table with farming friends. https://t.co/rY4laJuJ6P”

Indiana’s 6th congressional district covers much of eastern Indiana and includes communities such as Greenwood and Wayne County. The area is known for its agricultural activity and has several small- to mid-sized cities that serve as regional hubs.

Shreve’s recent posts reflect ongoing concerns about public safety and community engagement within his district. The Greenwood plane crash mentioned by Shreve occurred near a busy intersection but did not result in additional casualties beyond the pilot.
