About 34.4 percent of the 1,444 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Indianapolis in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Indianapolis conferred 222 bachelor’s degrees and 148 master’s degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor’s degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 180 bachelor’s degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 94 bachelor’s degrees in general psychology and 84 bachelor’s degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 5,935 students for 2017-18, including 4,508 in undergraduate programs and 1,427 in graduate programs.
