About 50.4 percent of the 131 degrees and certificates handed out by Kaplan University-Indianapolis in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Indianapolis conferred 35 certificates and 19 bachelor’s degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in medical insurance specialist/medical biller. Data shows the school gave out 24 certificates in medical insurance specialist/medical biller, followed by 10 bachelor’s degrees in health/health care administration/management and 8 bachelor’s degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 1,498 students for 2017-18, including 1,258 in undergraduate programs and 240 in graduate programs.
