Tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at Butler University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Indiana students paid $41,120 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,260 more than the $39,860 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,014 students received grants or scholarships totaling $18.8 million and 538 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,495), 3,931 students used grants or scholarships totaling $78.1 million, and 2,104 students took out $14.5 million in federal student loans.
