The Indianapolis Colts announced on Mar. 17 the signing of free agent defensive tackle Jerry Tillery.
Tillery, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 295 pounds, brings several years of experience to the Colts’ defensive line. The move adds depth and experience to the team’s roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Tillery began his National Football League career with the Los Angeles Chargers, who selected him in the first round as the 28th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. During his time with the Chargers, he appeared in 54 games and started in 29, recording a total of 10.5 sacks, 106 tackles, 33 quarterback hits, and 12 tackles for loss.
After leaving the Chargers in 2022, Tillery played for several teams including the Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and most recently, the Kansas City Chiefs. In the previous season with Kansas City in 2025, he played all 17 games and recorded 2.5 sacks, made 20 tackles, and had two quarterback hits.
Over his seven-year career so far, Tillery has participated in a total of 117 games with 53 starts. His career statistics include 14 sacks, 195 tackles, four passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, along with notable contributions such as quarterback hits and tackles for loss.
Tillery played college football at Notre Dame from 2015 to 2018 where he overlapped with current Colts guard Quenton Nelson from 2015 to 2017.
