The Indianapolis Colts announced on Mar. 13 the signing of free agent defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi.
Nnadi, who is 29 years old, has played eight seasons in the National Football League with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was part of three Super Bowl-winning teams with the Chiefs in 2019, 2022, and 2023. During his time in Kansas City, Nnadi started and made four tackles in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers and also started in their Super Bowl LVII win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Standing at six feet one inch and weighing 317 pounds, Nnadi was selected by the Chiefs as a third-round pick (No. 75 overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft after playing college football at Florida State. Over his career, he has appeared in 130 games with 98 starts, recording a total of 249 tackles, five sacks, seven tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one interception. He has missed only three regular season games during his professional career.
With this signing, Nnadi will join a group of Colts defensive tackles that includes Adetomiwa Adebawore and Colby Wooden. He will play alongside established veterans DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart.
The addition of Nnadi brings further experience to the Colts’ defensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season.
