The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they are now accepting resumes for the 2026 season for both the Tony Dungy Coaching Fellowship and the Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football programs.
The Tony Dungy Fellowship Program, now in its fifth year, offers coaching candidates a chance to gain experience as they advance in their careers. The program is named after Tony Dungy, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and the winningest head coach in Colts history. Dungy was also the first Black head coach to win a Super Bowl, leading Indianapolis to victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
“The Tony Dungy Fellowship Program affords coaching candidates the opportunity to gain valuable experience as they progress in their careers. The fifth-year program provides the Colts with access to talented coaches. The fellowship is named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Dungy, the winningest head coach in Colts history, who became the first Black head coach to win a Super Bowl after leading Indianapolis to a victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.”

The Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football is entering its fourth year and offers opportunities within football operations or coaching departments. It honors Harriet P. Irsay, grandmother of team executives Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson.
“The Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football Program affords a fellowship in a football operations department or coaching. The fellowship is named in honor of Harriet P. Irsay, the late grandmother of Colts Owner & CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Owner & Executive Vice President Casey Foyt and Owner & Chief Brand Officer Kalen Jackson. The fourth-year program provides the Colts with access to high potential candidates to contribute to their football operation.”

Both fellowships aim to build a pipeline of qualified employees who could be considered for senior positions with Indianapolis or other NFL teams.
“The goal of both programs is to create a pipeline of qualified employees that have successfully completed this program to be considered for future more senior positions with Indianapolis and other NFL clubs.”
A selection committee including members of the Irsay family, General Manager Chris Ballard, Head Coach Shane Steichen, and other staff will evaluate applicants.
“Qualified candidates for both positions will be evaluated and interviewed by a selection committee composed of the Irsay family, General Manager Chris Ballard, Head Coach Shane Steichen and other members of the Colts coaching staff and football operations team.”
Additionally, the team continues participation in initiatives like the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship which helps coaches further their careers through training camps and offseason programs.
“The team also will continue to fill positions through the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, which provides coaches the opportunity to utilize training camps, offseason workout programs and minicamps to further their careers.”
