The Indianapolis Colts announced several roster changes on March 9 as the 2026 National Football League free agency period began. Defensive end Kwity Paye signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, while defensive tackle Neville Gallimore joined the Chicago Bears. Wide receiver Alec Pierce agreed to re-sign with the Colts, according to updates from team reporters.
The start of free agency is a significant time for teams and players across the league, as unrestricted free agents can begin negotiating and agreeing to terms with any team. However, contracts do not become official until after 4 p.m. Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the new league year.
Paye was selected by the Colts in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and played five seasons with Indianapolis, appearing in 75 games and recording over 30 sacks. Gallimore joined the Colts in March 2025 and played all 17 games last season, posting a career-high in sacks. Pierce, who was considered one of the top wide receivers available this offseason, will remain an important part of Indianapolis’s offense after surpassing 1,000 receiving yards last year and leading the league in yards per catch for a second straight season.
The Colts also placed a transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones last week. This allows Jones to negotiate offer sheets with other teams while giving Indianapolis five days to match any offer he receives. Additionally, kicker Blake Grupe re-signed with the team after making all his field goals and extra points during his five games last season.
A number of other unrestricted free agents from last year’s roster are being monitored by team officials as negotiations continue. The organization said it will provide further updates as more moves become official in the coming weeks.
