Ashley Enlow, the Senior Human Resource Information Services Manager at Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), recently shared insights about her career journey in a recent interview. With ten years at IPS, she emphasizes her commitment to education and its impact on students and staff. Enlow started as a Data Entry Specialist and has advanced to her current role, overseeing HR information systems.
Reflecting on her academic and professional experience, Enlow said, “I was drawn to the field because of my desire to make a meaningful impact in a system that shapes the future of students.” Despite initially not focusing directly on education, she found value in contributing to a supportive environment for educators and staff.
Enlow’s role at IPS has provided her with unique experiences compared to her previous positions. “The work I do is not only about supporting staff but also about contributing to the broader educational mission of the district,” she remarked.
Discussing the significance of education, Enlow explained, “Education is important to me because it is a powerful tool for change and empowerment.” She has been involved in initiatives like IT automation for network access and reimplementation of the EERP system, which have streamlined HR operations.
Enlow approaches her work with an emphasis on collaboration and service, keeping the broader mission of IPS in mind. She advises new staff to “embrace collaboration and stay focused on the larger mission of the district.”
She expressed optimism about the IPS initiative ‘Rebuilding Stronger,’ noting, “It’s about sustainable change and building a better future.” This initiative aims to enhance equity and resources for students and staff.
Reflecting on the advice to newcomers, Enlow encourages building strong relationships and being proactive. “By staying engaged, setting clear goals, and working together as a team, you’ll be positioned for success and make a positive impact on our students and schools,” she advises.
