André Carson, serving in the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 7th district, shared his thoughts via social media on recent events and policies. Carson, who succeeded Julia Carson in 2008 and is an advocate for environmental and social justice, emphasized various issues in a series of tweets.

On April 21, Carson reflected on the life of Pope Francis, highlighting his dedication to peace and humility. He stated: “Pope Francis exemplified humility, compassion, and peace right until the very end. Just yesterday, he renewed his calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, and spent his last days standing up for migrants. May his life and legacy remind us to always fight for the poor and marginalized.”

Marking Earth Day on April 22, Carson underscored his commitment to environmental advocacy. He remarked: “Happy Earth Day! Our environment is worth protecting, and that’s why I will continue to advocate for policies that promote clean energy and reduce pollution.”

On April 23, Carson drew attention to the impact of the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act on healthcare affordability. He tweeted: “Reminder: Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act helped folks in Indiana and across the country better afford medical care, including capping the price of insulin at $35/month for Medicare beneficiaries. Lowering costs of healthcare is what will make our nation healthy.”

André Carson, aged 48 and a graduate from Concordia University Wisconsin with a BA, has been actively promoting these initiatives since beginning his political career in the Indianapolis City-County Council in 2007.
