André Carson, a U.S. Representative serving Indiana’s 7th district, has recently expressed his concerns and initiatives about immigration policies and support for local communities through tweets. These statements reflect his ongoing legislative work and community engagement aimed at addressing pressing social issues.

On April 15, André Carson tweeted about the actions of the Trump administration “brazenly defying court orders and even calling to deport American citizens.” He mentioned the fear experienced by many families during this period and emphasized his commitment to opposing these policies, while ensuring that residents of Indianapolis know they can rely on his office as a resource.

The following day, April 16, Carson highlighted a ruling by the Supreme Court, stating “The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 last week that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was wrongfully deported.” He asserted that Mr. Abrego Garcia was unlawfully deported and should be allowed to return home immediately.

On April 17, Carson hosted a webinar designed to provide Hoosier immigrants with necessary legal and financial resources. He tweeted “Last night, I hosted a webinar to empower Hoosier immigrants with legal and financial resources — our second empowerment session of the year.” Carson continues to assure his constituents that his office will serve as a supportive resource for the community.

André Carson, born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1974, succeeded Julia Carson in the U.S. Congress in 2008. He is a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin and was previously involved with the Indianapolis City-County Council. His ongoing legislative efforts demonstrate his commitment to addressing key community issues and ensuring his office acts as a vital resource for residents.
