André Carson, a U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has used his social media platform to comment on recent political and community developments. On February 20, 2026, Carson addressed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump. In a post made at 20:34 UTC, Carson stated: “Trump’s tariffs have caused costs to skyrocket – but the Supreme Court just ruled these tariffs are illegal, in what’s being called a ‘major blow’ to Trump. Trump is already losing 70% of court cases filed against him. Now there’s another to add to the list.”

Later that evening at 22:08 UTC, Carson highlighted his efforts in securing federal funding for local initiatives. He wrote: “I secured federal funding for Shepherd Community Center, which is working to break the cycle of poverty in Indianapolis. These investments are essential to strengthening our community.”

The following day, on February 21 at 16:40 UTC, Carson posted about additional financial support for Indianapolis projects: “Learn more about the $13 million in new investments I secured for Indianapolis.”

Carson’s remarks come as part of his ongoing work representing Indiana’s capital region in Congress—a position he has held since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008. Before joining Congress, he served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008 and continues to reside in Indianapolis, where he was born in 1974.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
