In a series of recent tweets, Congressman André Carson, representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has voiced strong opinions on economic policies and aviation safety. Serving in the U.S. Congress after succeeding Julia Carson, he has a history of active legislative participation.

On April 7, 2025, Congressman Carson addressed concerns about the impact of current trade policies, stating: “President Trump’s tariffs are already doing damage to our economy. That’s why I’m fighting for solutions that will help working class families, not hurt them.”

The following day, April 8, 2025, Carson expressed his concerns over insufficient resources for airline safety measures. In a tweet, he stressed that “We can’t afford more cuts that impact airline safety. @USDOT must: Implement Congress’ mandate for @FAANews to hire the maximum number of air traffic controllers Expand advanced surveillance technology to prevent near misses Protect the aviation workforce from preventable

Later on the same day, he announced his legislative efforts against trade tariffs: “NEW: I’m cosponsoring a resolution to stop President Trump’s extreme tariffs. Tariffs are a tax on American families, and they’ll raise prices on necessities to the tune of $5,000 a year. We’re forcing a vote on the House floor to put an end to it.”
