André Carson, a U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has recently used his social media platform to address issues related to voting rights and international law.

On February 10, 2026, Carson commented on proposed changes to voter registration requirements in the United States. He stated, “Let’s be clear: non-citizens voting is already illegal. The SAVE Act doesn’t fix a real problem. It creates new barriers by forcing Americans to present a passport or birth certificate in person just to register or update their registration. We should be expanding voting”.

Two days later, on February 12, 2026, Carson addressed recent actions by the Israeli government regarding the West Bank. In one post he wrote, “The Israeli government’s decision to escalate toward outright annexation of the occupied West Bank is a blatant violation of international law and a direct assault on the possibility of peace. Expanding settlements, consolidating permanent control over Palestinian land, and”. In a subsequent message posted seconds later, he added: “Annexation is illegal. Settlement expansion is illegal. Collective punishment and land seizure are illegal. These policies cement a reality of unequal rights and permanent occupation for millions of Palestinians.”

Carson has served as Indiana’s 7th District representative in Congress since replacing Julia Carson in 2008 and previously held office on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, Carson graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a BA in 2003.
