André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from accountability for survivors of abuse to the accuracy of political claims regarding retirement savings plans.
On February 25, 2026, Carson posted: “Enough. Survivors deserve accountability. They deserve the full truth—not a redacted version designed to protect the wealthy and powerful. I stand with survivors. Release the Epstein files, in full.” The statement called for the unredacted release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein and expressed support for survivors seeking transparency.
Later that day, Carson addressed statements made by former President Donald Trump about retirement savings plans. On February 25, 2026, he wrote: “Last night, Trump touted a new retirement savings plan to help millions of working Americans. Except it’s not a new plan. It’s Democrats’ plan—and President Biden already signed it into law in 2022. Beware of Trump taking Democrats’ accomplishments and passing them off as his”.
On February 26, 2026, Carson highlighted recognition from a civil liberties organization: “Proud to have received a perfect legislative score from the @ACLU for the 119th Congress. The Trump administration continues to attack our civil liberties—but I’m fighting to protect our rights.”
Carson has represented Indiana’s 7th District in Congress since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there, Carson holds a BA from Concordia University Wisconsin.
