André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has recently shared a series of posts on his official social media account addressing national security concerns, local mourning, and community celebrations.
On March 16, 2026, Carson criticized President Trump’s military actions, stating: “President Trump is dragging us into another endless war without congressional approval. I voted against this war because Americans should not have to suffer higher costs or decisions that puts lives at risk.”
The following day, March 17, Carson paid tribute to a fallen service member from Indiana: “I join Hoosiers across the state in mourning the loss of Capt. Seth R. Koval, an American hero who served our nation with honor. My prayers are with his family, community and all who served beside him. We will never forget his sacrifice and bravery to our country.”
Later on March 17, Carson marked St. Patrick’s Day by recognizing its significance for Indianapolis and the broader nation: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Hoosiers! Today we honor the rich heritage that has shaped Indianapolis and this nation. May this day be filled with fellowship and good luck.”
Carson has represented Indiana’s 7th District in Congress since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there, he graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
