André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to local community events and healthcare policy.

On July 28, Carson commented on the ongoing situation in Gaza, stating, “Gaza isn’t starving. It’s being starved. The Israeli government has blocked humanitarian aid into Gaza for over 8 months. Over 150 Gazans have been killed by starvation, 82 of those children. On top of that, Israeli strikes are targeting dozens of people seeking the little aid https://t.co/ULUDh3SBkk”.

A day later, on July 29, Carson promoted an upcoming community event aimed at connecting constituents with job opportunities and resources: “My annual Job & Resource Fair is just 7 days away! Join me on August 5 from 10-2 at the Ivy Tech Culinary and Conference Center. This event is FREE and no pre-registration is required—but make the most out of your experience with this pre-event checklist:”.

On July 30, he reflected on the anniversary of major U.S. healthcare programs and criticized recent policy changes: “60 years ago, Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law, transforming healthcare access for millions of Americans. Today, those programs are under attack. President Trump and House Republicans passed the largest Medicaid cuts in history leaving millions of Americans to lose”.

Carson’s statements come amid his long tenure in Congress—he succeeded Julia Carson in 2008 after previously serving on the Indianapolis City-County Council—and reflect both his national advocacy and engagement with local constituents. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and holding a BA from Concordia University Wisconsin (2003), Carson continues to reside in his hometown while focusing on issues impacting both Indiana’s 7th District and broader national concerns.
