André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, recently addressed several issues through his social media posts, including foreign policy concerns, community engagement with veterans, and the preservation of Black history.

On February 12, 2026, Carson called for increased accountability in U.S. foreign policy regarding Israel. He stated: “Congress cannot continue to provide a blank check while ignoring actions that undermine human rights and destabilize the entire region. If we are serious about peace, accountability must apply to everyone, including Israel – we cannot continue to look the other way.”

Two days later, on February 14, Carson highlighted a local initiative supporting veterans: “Happy Valentine’s Day! Each year, I team up with Indianapolis schools for our Valentines for Vets program to deliver valentines to nursing homes and veteran service organizations. Thanks to all who participated!”

On February 16, Carson emphasized efforts to preserve Black history in Indiana by recognizing local contributions: “Black history will not be erased. I was honored to present the Julia M. Carson Community Award to Ophelia Wellington for her work showcasing and preserving Black Hoosier history with Freetown Village.”

Carson has represented Indiana’s 7th District in Congress since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and a resident of the city, he graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree.
